WHY 40 BEFORE MY 40th BRIRTHDAY

As many of my friends ,family and work colleagues know. I love to help others at some considerable cost to myself and my health (for the better).

I was riding through north London at 3am on the morning of the 9th June on one of the many fundraisiers for 2012 for the Camille's Appeal, well your forty next year big boy, what you going to do??

After some discussion with she who must be obeyed (karen) and Martin Shave (Dad to Camille). I decided to embark on an ambitious and rewarding 40 challenges before my 40th Brithday on the 15th August 2014. Please remember that date as it will be important to keep clear in your social calendars.

I took a while to devleope forty challenges, as i've already done the three peaks, drove a banger racing car, walked miles and cycled even further. So please check out my challenges and if you think you can assist in mking it happen, please let me know... Thank you.

WHY CAMILLE'S APPEAL??

In 2008 i recieved an email seeking a request from a young lady i hardly knew at work, asking for people to assist in fundraising to support her daughter Camille. I attended the meeting only to realise that i was the only guy in a room of about 25 ladies from the Port of Felixstowe. Now i dont scare easily, but i knew i was in huge trouble. but hearing her story i could only offer my services. That was August 2009, it's now 2013 and i'm pleased to say that i have supported the family of this young gir, but I'm now the volunteer fundraising manager for the charity, Camille's Appeal.

I have seen this family and many others go through hell duirng treatment and  i know that the fundraising work that everyone is doing. is making a difference with the launch of the poineering "Brainbow" unit on the 10th september at Addenbrookes Hospital, in Cambridgeshire. This unit is the first in the UK to benefit these children in rehabillitaion of thier lifes. So please dig as deep as you can for my birthday donation as all money raised will go straight to the Camilles Appeal.
