1) Watch a foreign film (no subtitles) – Just watched Belleville Rendez-Vous a french cartoon film about a young lad that wanted to ride in the Tour De France. but he was kidnapped by the american french maffia, for underground betting. His mother and three singers they used to wath on television rescued him. Good animation and i was able to follow the plot with no subtitles. Although constantly laughed at the cyclist, as it reminded me of Gavin Carter.

 

2) Go to an international football match in the new Wembley – as a person who enjoys football, it would be good to visit the new Wembley nearly?? Years after Ipswich got promoted in the playoff final to the Premier league

 

3) Go skinny dipping- because I’m crazy and not shy of being a large lad, Boxing Day, i sliped into the North Sea For the third time in two days for Charity. Thank you to those who stayed away... it was for your own good.

 

4) Kiss Kyle Minogue- childhood crush, got to be sorted out.

 

5) Write a book and get published- I spoke with a few people about this challenge and the cost involved in getting a book published was well out of my range, So i've decided to publish it on this site under Autobiography1 & 2, Please take time to read this as it will aloow you to understand the real Stewart and what has moulded me into me. I welcome your feedback. please use the contact link.

 

6) go in a hot air balloon- Often seen them rising slowly and majestically through the skys of Suffolk

 

7) Get an editorial published in a newspaper/magazine -  as part of my job I’m bursting with ideas and interesting facts about green travel and alternative fuels, so I’d like to write about my experiences with my electric car. I have just received notice that an article i compiled for a Landrover club has been published in their members magazine. Who would have thought an Electric Landrover defender would excit so many!!!

 

8) Run the London Marathon – being 20 stone(september 2014) and rather tall, this is a bigger challenge than I dare think about. However it’s a little challenge compare to fighting for your life with a brain tumour. I have managed to secure a Ballot place in next years london marathon, Training is going well, considering the injuries i am already carrying. But NO PAIN, NO GAIN!!.

 

9) Go to Wimbledon- love watching tennis, but dislike the grunting!! But a few beers and I won’t mind it that much. BALLOT APPLIED FOR DECEMBER 2015

 

10) Rescue an animal from captivity/rescue centre – a strange one to select, but one I know that I can do fairly quickly. Completed july 2013, Jones is now a member of our family and settling in well.

 

11) Be a Dad- Hmmm a tough one this, but I know that my rock is supporting this challenge, love you sweet cheeks..

 

12) Watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy in one session- After 10hrs, 45minutes, 3ltrs of coffee from my flask. i've now watched the extended Directors Versions back to back.

 

13) Go Coastering- As a person that like water sports, and Climbing this is one that I’ve never done. Following a trip to dorset, i met with two activity leaders, who took me to Doodle Dor and some fantastic fossil hunting and jumping off the rocks into the sea. Photos in Gallery.

 

14) Go to the ballet- in a forma life, I must have done ballet as I’m rather light on my toes. But would love to see one live (a touch of culture), saw the serbian state ballet company in Ipswich, with another Camille's Appeal Suppporters Karen Damant,Katy Harvey and her partner.

 

15) Get married to my rock- Karen is my life and my rock, without her I could not do what I do for charities. It’s been a long time coming, but will you marry me!

 

16) See a Shakespearean play at the RSC in Stratford- As a thespian (that’s right thespian) I’d like to see how the professional theatre companies do it.

 

17) Drive a Ferrari - who wouldn’t want too?

 

18) Have tea at the Ritz in London- I’m not a posh bloke, but I sometimes grace the higher end of society.

 

19) Create a short film to go onto You Tube- I already have my Olympic Torch video on there, but that does not count, so i've been given an idea from the cast of the Ipswich Gangshow. Watch this space!!

 

20) Learn to do the tango- Karen has wanted me to take up ballroom dancing for years, So I guess this will be a strictly come dancing style fundraising event in 2014…., I have now completed my tango dance test, so just waiting for Len Goodman so shout (Seven)

 

21) Meet a member of the Royal Family- I’m seen plenty from a distance, but never met a royal to shake their hand., maybe it’s time for the OBE application?

 

22) Ride on a Harley Davidson at a motor bike festival – I often hear these roaring past me on the motorway, but I wanted to find out if my teeth will rattle after being on one.

 

23) Go to an ice hockey match- My brother and I went to watch the Isle of Wight Raiders Vs the Chelmsford Cheaters. a good game, not as much hype as the USA, but we did get some funny looks as i started cheering on the IOW Raiders in the middle of the Home supporters. was it good, yeah, the only bad bit was the £7.20 a pint!!

 

24) Watch a Norwich City Football match  – those who know me will know this will be the toughest challenge to even get me into Norwich. This was a tough one, but i managed 45 minutes of football again a nice looking french team from NICE. But Norwich were rather handy, so the 5-1 scoreline didnt make the trip home any better.

 

25) Face a fast blower for an over of cricket – after playing in a charity match last year and surviving a few fast bowls, do I have the bottle to face a professional bolwer??

 

26) Learn to play chess and compete in a match- Played as a child at school, but never since.  Knight to b4, lol.

 

27) Be treated to a Helicopter Ride- as I overlook the helipad at work, and I often marvel at the skill of the helicopter pilots. I’d be happy to have a fly-by of London or my home ( if one of the very senior managers from Hutchison ports is reading this).

 

28) Watch all of the Carry on Films- As a lover of carry on films; I’ve never watched them all, so the DVD box set is a must along with some popcorn and a few ales...

 

29) Appear on TV Game Show- following my brush with fame on the quiz show Eggheads, I’ve got the bug for another tv game show, Applications Pending?

 

30) Cook with a celebrity chef- I love to cook and don’t often get a chance to cook for Karen, but a celebrity cooking lesson would be great to treat her to a nice meal.

 

31) Go to the Grand Prix- After an eventful grid setting session on saturday, I travelled down with friends for the sunday race. A great day a Great British Result and of course a sneaky cider or three..

 

32) Parachute Jump- being large Build and 21 stone (December 2012) I’ve been told by some royal marine friends that if I get to 18.5stone they will throw me out of a plane….. the challenge is on boys.

 

33) Visit Auschwitz or prisoner of war camp- As a child I did a project at school on world war two and the history of the war has fascinated me ever since. So a trip to a camp would be the most humbling think I could do.

 

34) Improve on my Personal Best weight at sea fishing, currently 28Lb Shark (tope) – As a keen sea angler, I love nothing more than to sit with my rod in hand and relax.

 

35) Say NO at least five times before my 40th , when people ask for assistance (being double booked does not count)  – this goes right against my thought process, I’m the type of guy who has always put others before me. This is going to hurt.

I rescued Jones the dog, from the Blue Cross, cost £150, we completed a sponsord walk last week raising £20 Plus gift-Aid, this week i recieved a fundraising marketing call would i like to give £3 a month to the blue cross. Erm it cost me £20 a month to keep him. So no i dont want to donate £3 a month.

  3. I was registering for the great north run, when i was told i had to pay £50 to enter a ballot for a place. if unsucessful this would either be refunded or given to chairty. Sonsidering that it was only a week away, why would i pay to enter a ballot.. Oh thats money in their bank and interest to them for turning me down.. NO , NO, NO.... i refused to pay it...

36) Complete the London Nightrider for the third time in three years with fellow 40beforeforty member- This was completed in a time of 5hrs and 19 minutes, with Crazy rainbow. Dan, Jed, Ben and Nick, from our usual spot of crystal palace. dry weather overnight and great photos in the gallery.

 

37) Host a Whiskey tasting event- As a lover of Single Malts; this would be a great event to offer to some of our corporate Camille’s Appeal members. But first I have to try a few. A great night was had on friday 23rd Feb, with 10 bottles of whisky with 15 charity supporters. We raised £237.00 for the charity.

 

38) Win a radio competition- I’ve always been rather unlucky when entering competitions for prizes, so my aim is to win a radio competition.

 

39) Watch a Rugby Match at Twickenham – every rugby loving man and woman should do this at least once in their life time..

 

40) Arrange a Trip to the Munich Beer Festival to celebrate my 40th in style!!, Those interested in this trip will need to pay for themselves and have a few days holiday so we can enjoy it. (Approx. date September 2014, Ocktober Fest)
 

My 40 Challenges

As a charity fundraiser since i was 12yrs old, i have completed swims, cycle rides, long walks and bungee jumps, banger racing and much more. So finding 40 items that i have not comleted before was rather difficult. However below are 40 challenges that not only will challenge me they will change my life.

 

To assist in understanding what challenges are complete, i have adopted the traffic light system, RED= not completed, Yellow= Under Planning and Green= Completed. If you wish to join me in a challenge and raise funds for the Camille's Appeal, please feel free to contact me.
